Blue Origin: News

Established in 2000 by Jeff Bezos, founder of multinational technology company Amazon, Blue Origin deals with aerospace manufacturing and sub-orbital spaceflight services. Headquartered in Kent, Washington, the company works “with the vision to enable a future where millions of people are living and working in space to benefit Earth.” In other words, it believes that heavy industries must be shifted to space to “enable humanity to access space to expand, explore, and find new energy and material resources.” Its focus is on rocket-powered vertical takeoff and vertical landing (VTVL) vehicles for accessing suborbital and orbital space. The company whose motto is Gradatim Ferociter (Latin) meaning “Step by Step, Ferociously,” also has announced plans for a moon lander to be called Blue Moon.
